Recipe: Ceres Black Forest Porridge

If you missed out on the Foodshow this year, don’t stress - we are sharing the recipe with you! We partnered with Ceres Organics this year, to create a warming Black Forest Porridge bowl that is jam-packed with easy superfoods, and is hormone balancing, blood sugar balancing, super satiating and so quick to whip up as a batch for the whole week.

We created this recipe to be a super nourishing and heart-warming bowl of yumminess to keep us going all morning long during the chilly winter months. This mix can be served either hot or cold - and we love to mix up a big batch of the dry ingredients, and then simply have it ready to just add to milk!

I personally also love to mix 4-5 servings in a big bowl, with the milk, and then portion out into little jars and top them each with different fruit, yoghurt and nut butters - these keep for the whole week in the fridge so you always have a healthy and satisfying breakfast on hand.

RECIPE

1 tsp cacao powder

1/2 tsp Ashwagandha

1/2 cup quick cook rolled oats

1 tsp LSA + P

1 tsp chia seeds

3 pitted dates, chopped roughly

1 tsp maple syrup (if you would like the added sweetness)

1/2 cup almond or oat milk

TOPPINGS

Frozen berries

Blueberry Cashew Gluten Free Muesli

Coconut yoghurt

Cashew Coconut Butter

METHOD

In a bowl, add all dry ingredients and stir to combine.

Add milk and maple, and mix well. Leave for at least 10 mins to soak, ideally overnight.

When ready to serve, heat in the microwave or on a stovetop, or leave as is for a cold overnight oats option.

Top with fresh or frozen berries, a sprinkle of muesli, coconut yoghurt, cashew coconut butter, and an extra drizzle of maple syrup if you have a sweet tooth!
